The Christian Heritage Party of Canada promotes strong families, and it’s a simple fact of life that the best environment for children to grow up in is a two-parent home in which there is both a mother and a father. And thus the redefinition of marriage to include same-sex couples intentionally subjects children to what is widely acknowledged to be a substandard environment.

As evidence, a study published in the Feb 2015 issue of the British Journal of Education, Society and Behavioural Science concludes that children raised by same-sex parents are almost twice as likely as their opposite-sex parent counterparts to seek the help of mental health professionals.

So being raised by same-sex parents is arguably very unhealthy for children, and for the sake of future generations, the CHP is committed to ending this social experiment and restoring the traditional definition of matrimony.
